The Hilda's rock male needs like a profile or something, always see posts about him but still feels like he is quite an obscure character.

Agree, theres many famous lions in this DeLaporte coalition,if they continue to be seen this often i think they deserve their own thread, but lets wait a bit, they are still fairly new coalition.

A big pride of lions eating a buffalo on a road of the Kruger National Park ! Impressive feast ! Atmosphere and good moods (I'm ironic)...

There is no confirmation so far that second Styx male is in that coalition or even alive at all.

Confirmed by who? Photographers on facebook?

How much of a chance is that Long Mane Styx finds a partner that looks and is the same age as his brother? Yea not very big.

Thats Styx Big Boy.

Your right about that. I just looked at the photos closely trying to find identifying features, there's a quite obvious cut in the lower side of the left ear that's present in the recent and also older photos. The look is VERY similar and the fact that he is with the other confirmed Styx male to me suggests its him, I am 95% certain.

Pondoro Game Lodge
One of the big advantages of living in an open ecosystem is that animal dynamics can change naturally. The Machaton males have been spending most of their time in a very small area of about 3000ha over the past year and other male coalitions have realised this and are now pushing far into the Machaton's normal territory. Below are photos of the Strydom pride males who were seen next to a giraffe carcass. Also included is a photo of one of the black male lions, which are part of a coalition of 4 that frequents an area to the east of us, marking territory on Impalabos east.

Nice find.
Never heard of this males, so their territory is a bit east of Machatons, in west Klaserie?
