There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Since the mid 2000's so 20 years in 2025. My first ever lion sighting was a kudu hunt at Shitlave Dam just outside Pretoriuskop with my then gf (now wife). They missed the kudu but caught me, you could say. Since then I have had many sightings; some thrilling, some sad and others what some people would call mundane but for me it never gets old. Still the same thrill as the first time.
Still utterly useless at identifying individual lions reliably, though. Lol.
Ah, yes, for many of us, or so it seems, these cats really can get in your blood, and you cannot stop following along with them. Totally understood. Thank you, my friend!
