Interesting that at that time, his current partner S. Shishangeni male was already a beast of a male lion and attacking Vurhami pride with his brother/partner, S. Shishangeni in December 2015 :

By currently looking at Afsaal males we might think these 2 boys are around the same age, but in reality theres around 1.5 - 2 yrs age gap between them, S. Shishangeni male is ageing like a fine wine, hope he can raise offspring in Jock area, it would be shame otherwise.

Jeez! I had no idea S. Shishangeni was THAT old. To think that 7 years ago he was already starting to reach his peak and that even now at his age he still looks as great as most prime males (if not more so) is INSANE. Crossing fingers that he spreads his robust and healthy genes in the Jock area.

Years back, there was a brief discussion in this forum (if I remember correctly) as to which males a person (if they were a reserve manager/owner) would translocate to an area in the Lowveld in need of top-tier males to repopulate the area with lions. Males such as the Charleston and S. Matimba males were mentioned and I'm pretty sure S. Shishangeni was mentioned as well. If not, he would definitely be a top contender as he is an absolute stud.
