Hmmm, it's interesting, the Nk. male partnering up with the Styx male...  The Nk male might not have an incentive to leave the Styx Pride like his half brother.... He wasn't raised with those females and he's starting to show an interest in mating now.  He was seen, I think, showing this interest with at least one female in the pride not long ago....  If there are no males coming in to take over soon, he could, unfortunately, stick around and try to mate with these females.....  Meanwhile, what will the Styx male do?  Is he even around still?  Will they both stay together???

I haven't exactly seen them together much lately.  Did the Styx male leave?  I guess he definitely would not have the instinct to hang around in order to mate with females in his own pride! The females should abandon them, ideally speaking....  But, if not, will the Nk male just make himself at home for as long as possible?

Its hard to tell what will happen in this situation..

He might try and mate with females, but i think its more likely that he will left with Styx male eventually..based of other examples of this kind, where unrelated young male joins a pride with other young males in it..

For example young male that joined Fourways pride and Solo with Cleo/Leo.. They moved off and formed a coalition..

We'll see.  Stranger things have happened, but hopefully, the females will continue to refuse to engage with the amorous Nk male.  After awhile, if the Styx male is still around, they'll both move off to look for females and territory elsewhere....

He may have intentions to mate with Styx females, but he can do nothink without female's aproval. Moreover if (when) Styx females will come into oestous Nkuchuma male will be chassed out by other, adult dominant males.

Styx and NK males with 3 lionesses from Styx pride, missing lioness is the one who was mating with N'ws male, she was seen in Lion Sands with them, but apperantly she is searching her pride back:

2 boys might be in trouble if the 4th lioness attracts 4 N'ws to them, althrough roughly at the same age or slightly younger, they are outnumbered..

Unfortunately bad news for Styx pride, his sister was seen badly injured, her pelvis was crushed and she was dragging her back legs, she will not survive much longer..

Styx pride is very unlucky pride, just as the pride are starting to stabilize with subadults coming to adulthood, they lost 2 young females in a span of a half a year..

This again shows how nomadic life and a pride is very valnurable without protection of pride males.. Styx pride was 10+ strong just a year or so ago.. Now down to 4 (+ Nkuhuma male)..

We dont have any pictures to see exactly what kind of injury she get, only by word that she had "crushed" pelvis and was dragging her legs.. But no details does she had maybe biting wounds or what..

Theres was examples of buffaloes  breaking lions bones and spines..
