There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Disturbing sequence ! The eagle breeds only one baby bird: the strongest. Thus the weakest is mercyless sacrificed, and constantly tormented by its blood brother or sister.

Thats almost always the case in the eagle family. The largest chick is also almost always female. I feel sorry for the younger chick as the mother is doing nothing to protect it from its sibling. However, this is the survival of the fittest.

@GreenGrolar :

About #95: yes agree, but all birds are very cruel in order to allow the strongest to survive. Look at this one, it's the mother stork which, itself, eliminates the weakest chick.

/\ I must say in my honest opinion birds are more cruel to their young (weaker ones) in comparison to mammals.
