There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

T46/Baisanghat male

I have always heard good things about this amazingly beautiful forest. Finally it was only last week I made a trip to the jungle sparkling with beautiful meadows.
I can now easily rate this park as the second best after Dhikala, Corbett.
We were returning back to our camp after the evening safari and suddenly we spotted a huge tiger at a distance, initially he was walking alongside the lake referred to as Sounder talab.
He was none other than T46 known as Baisanghat male. He is handsome yet very shy and hardly spotted as per the information shared by the local Naturalist.
It was a treat to our eyes to watch him swim in the talab. He then walked on the grassland, scent marking his territory. I was fortunate to document these moments with stills and few footage.
I believe he is the dominant male of the Mukki zone, ruling large areas of the tourism zone of Mukki. He is currently believed to be the father to several cubs in the Mukki range that includes 2 cubs of MV3, 1 cub each of Sharmili and Choti mada. To our luck we almost got all these families during this trip.
As he swam across the lake, our expert Naturalist knew he would cross the fire line so we drove over there and in a few seconds he walked majestically with a slight head turn giving that wild stare into us. I managed to capture these beautiful wildlife moments and it was time to head back to the camp.

Kanha Tiger Reserve, is a jungle sparkling with beautiful meadows and mesmerising water bodies. It was end of our afternoon drive and time to head back to the Mukki exit gate. We had a great afternoon drive and took a chance to drive through a route that passes a beautiful lake referred to as Sounder Talab. And to our luck, out of nowhere we spotted a huge tiger at a distance, initially he was walking alongside the lake. And then suddenly he got into the lake and it was amazing to see him swim so gracefully. Light was low and fading very fast, I had to make some images and at the same I was also tempted to document a video footage.
I’m sharing this record shot of the tiger swiming, it was by far the best setting I could ever dream off. Amazing backdrop of the tall sal trees, adding to it was a peacock beautiful perched vertically displaying her long feathers and watching the tiger. A teal also took opportunity to make her appearance on the foreground.
All in all, by far my best sighting in recent times.
This hulk is none other than T46 known as Baisanghat male. He is a handsome dude, but seemed very shy and hardly spotted as per the information shared by the local Naturalists.
Later it was a treat to our eyes to watch him walk on the grassland scent marking his territory, I captured this footage and will share shortly.
