The N.Avoca males are really looking amazing!
However, they are being a bit unlucky with the injury that #2 and #1 has currently.
Blondie has this leg injury for a long time ago now. sometimes his injury seems to has been improving but after all he can't recover at the 100% never
Darkmane has his right front paw injured for 1 year and 2 months. A lot of unlucky for him who now is with the Talamati pride being a solo male on the charge on a big pride on a future

The kind of injury blondie has would play no role in a fight, nor would darkmane's paw injury. So as long as they are in good nick, they'll be up for anything. They just need to stay close to each other, mohawk/blondie seem inseparable even more than scarnose and darkmane majingalane used to be so that bodes well but darkmane could be caught alone considering how far he usually is from the other 2.

-Blondie 1/3 Northern Avoca males-
"One of the Avoca males takes a breather after giving the Ximungwe lioness trouble for about half an hour, chasing her all over the show in search of her youngster somewhere nearby. Hopefully he doesn't find the youngster or there could be a terrible outcome..."

Wow, was this recent? Blondie is most likely the father of this cub. I wonder what actually happened.... maybe he just chased her away because he didn’t immediately recognize her.

I think that Hairy Belly might be the father also, he was seen with them in late 2019 and that cub is most likely born around February /March, pregnacy lasts about 100 days or so.. But even if Blondie is the father, he prob doesnt know that, he just mated with that lioness and thats all, they part ways as she is nomadic and she is not under their control (as Tsalala was/is under Nhenha's).. So he will most likely kill the cub if he has a chance..

Interesting, didn’t know HB mated with her too. I’ve definitely seen both Avocas feed on a kill with both Ximungwe females when the other one was alive. But that was last summer and I’m sure he might not have immediately recognized her.
Her best chance might be to stay out west. Northern SS is so crowded right now with prides and cubs/sub adults.

Yes, I've seen photos of HB with both lionesses when one was pregnant or had just given birth.  Anyway, no matter which lion is the father, she is alone raising her cub, unfortunately.  We now know that at least one of the Avocas doesn't recognize the cub as his and spent 30 minutes trying to kill the poor thing.  Let's hope that if it is HB's, that he inherited some of his father's survival skills, cause he's going to need EVERY bit of it and then some.

I don't envy any single lion moms without any male protection whatsoever.  At least the Sparta and Tsalala Pride females have that somewhat.....

To me Blondie is one of the most beautiful lions around, he looks so majestic, he remainds me of Dreadlocks Mapogo, idk why, but they just look so majestic:

Southern Avoca male
Beast mode.
This Male lion had just killed and fed on a big buffalo bull, if you look closely he took a few scrapes to the face but definitely earned his dinner
