There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

So I've been looking into the reliablity of SCI records. While they seem to have wide acceptance, I have encountered a few people now who believe they are unreliable. I havent seen such people provide an instance of falsification or fabrication from SCI, but let say it's a possibility that their records are not reliable for crocodilians. If the SCI nile crocodile records can't be trusted ( I'm not yet convinced of this) then my preference would be to discard them, erring on the side of caution. The largest verifed measured nile crocodile would then seem to be the one from Tanzania measured by Brady Barr. For now, I will personally continue to accept the SCI records.

^ Interesting. That croc has distinct convex bulge on dorsal part of the skull, above the orbital area.
