There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

A very sad news: All the wild water buffaloes translocated to Chitwan have died, most have died due to flooding and related illness while 4 were killed by tiger, there were altogether 7 calves produced in the enclosure and 15 adults were brought from Koshi reserve. My personal take- Chitwan is still suitable habitat considering wild buffaloes were already present in Chitwan prior to being established as a national park, however they were keeping buffaloes inside the boma for far too long for years probably thinking they must remain a tightknit unit as a defence against predators, for the future authorities have to devise a plan to bring in an already related herd and put them all at once in a boma for acclimitization and release it less then 4 months

On another occassion a tiger had entered into Gharial breeding centre and devoured 3 gharials after finding some opening in the enclosure
