@Rage2277 Post #49 of this thread tells you why it ended up that way. The massive male which was camera trapped you are talking about was from the Eastern part.  As there is no competition for these tigresses, they have lived this long. There were most definitely cases of poaching which took away all males and these two females have been the only tigers in about 570 sq.km area for last 8 years or so maybe more.

The Eastern part is 140 sq.km and has 35 tigers. So, the density if protected properly would be among the best in the world. 60+ tigers could easily inhabit the western part. The issue is connecting the two which somehow escapes the authorities. Reply
