There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Fofa female (pregnant) 39kg with 1m 68cm long.

start of monitoring: March 10th 2016

''When the Mamirauá Institute team found this female jaguar she was pregnant (weight 39kg, size 1m 68cm). Generally jaguars take care of their young and wait two years to mate again. However a year passed and there was Fofa with a new newborn cub. "What impressed us is that Fofa has had another cub in such a short time. This fact leads to new questions and hypotheses about the behavior of jaguars," said researcher Wezddy Del Toro.

start of monitoring: January 28th 2016

''Django is the only black jaguar on our list. This type of fur is also rare in nature: they only exist in some types of environment and, when they occur, they represent about 10 to 20% of the jaguar population. Melanism occurs due to a genetic mutation that causes a high concentration of melanin in the animal's fur, the pigment that gives it its black color. Django is a male weighs 54kg and 1 meter and 80 centimeters long.''
