There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.
I know that triceratops had injures from t-rex and survived. This allowed to estimate the t-rex's bite force and first at all that the t-rex could really be an hunter, and not only a scavenger.
Of course, we can only speculate... Did any triceratops adapt a solitary life as some extant big bull bovids do ? Thus they would be vulnerable. Were the t-rex able to hunt in pride, adults and youngs mixed ? I believe as you do that a solitary triceratops was a very dangerous opponent for a solitary t-rex. Even if its horns weren't perhaps as sturdy as we could think. In any case, if the t-rex could hunt in duo I think they would definitely have the upper hand.
