Territory shifts happen not only through taking vacated arena, but also through takeovers with force. I am not saying there is takeover happening, but there is terrytorial dispute there as Skorro pride is chassing part of Birmingham pride through Birmingham pride territory.

In this case reserve boundaries kind of is territory boundry of Ross males. Of course lions do not care about reserve boundarys, but Ngala through past 3 years or so was totally dominated by Ross males with no other dominant males showing themselfs there.

I do not think those two cases are comparable. It would be if Avocas would chasse around part of Kambula pride.
