There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.
"The six young males that grew up in this pride are now three years old, and will in all probability stay together as a coalition. Their pride male, the Giraffe male, has not been seen in several months, which allowed the young males to stay in their natal territory."
"Correct. He was fathered by one of the two dominant males at the time (Ring and Ghana). Thornybush was still a fenced-in system then. Both his fathers were killed by Buffalo on separate occasions." Irony that BD male was gorged as well.
"The Blackdam male was a dominant male of this pride, and was ousted just over three years ago by the Giraffe male (From the giraffe pride). The Blackdam male then moved north and east, and became the dominant male of the Giraffe pride. So, essentially the two males swopped prides. The Giraffe male is the farther of the six young males, but has been missing for several months. The Blackdam male died in the Timbavati Game reserve, and we have received reports that he was killed by rival males. We are not too familiar with these details, as it happened outside our area of operation. Thanks for all the interest."
