It's definitely not quite cheetah levels of all being related but sometimes we forget that there are only around 25k wild lions left in Africa in disconnected strongholds. In the Greater Kruger it is estimated a stable population of between 1600 - 2000 however given the severe denuding of wildlife across all species in the 1800's before the establishment of the park it is likely that the lions in the park share common ancestors not all that many lion generations removed hence the similarities in appearance, which is especially noticeable in males as being the more distinctive of the species.
