"This trip for me will always be about the Mazithi Pride...I have been privileged to know and follow them for the last 10 years...I have seen the many cubs grow...smiled, laughed out loud and shed a few tears at their fortunes and misfortunes...their territory has over the years changed a little through necessity...and one of the males is now missing and presumed dead...this here is the remaining male in all his glory, he is old but still the same in character, his mane is sparse, his teeth worn and although I saw him on two kills during my 2 week trip the food is no longer nourishing his body as it did when he was young, he may not last the winter we will see, but Mazithi Male I salute you, and although it wont mean anything except to me, I thank you for the precious times I have spent in your company totally enthralled at your majesty and presence..."
