About #731: such accidents like this one can only happen with domestic and clustered animals. They are panicking, and their fear is exciting the predators' instinct. Normally any prey they hunt in the wild is difficult to catch, and once a prey is caught, the other are flying away as fast as they can. Here, the domestic animals are clustered and jammed. And so easily killed (you cannot compare the domestic goat's vigour with an antelope's or gazelle's one) ! So, the lions used this situation.

Read again some ancient accounts, when farmers settled in Africa. Some lions killed 50 cows, ostrichs and so on (C.A.W. Guggisberg's book). Same thing between wolves and sheep. This is a natural reaction. Of course the breeders aren't happy...
