but I have never seen a leopard getting this close to a lion. I think the leopards would have been more careful with a lioness, because the lionesses are quicker, and could have caught her. the terrain there helped as well.
I don't think it would of mattered, she was going to die for her cubs. Like the Puma fighting off the Grizzly, a mother cat/bear will die on their "shield" to protect their offspring.
Its a beautiful thing to watch... A mothers love is the most transferable thing when comparing us to them.
