I don't think any of the big cat's are more aggressive or atleast way more aggressive than the others! I can assure you @Majingilane that all dominate male lions you see here has been in fights over territory as well. lions will rarely fight to death alone because male lions usually never stays alone or takes over prides alone. And if one male is alone the ones that want's his pride usually comes in coalitions, and that makes it as it often is with lions unfair numbers, but if given a chance one on one the lion will fight just as ferocious as any other large cat. And I know more than one account of it happening, I'll try to find them tomorrow.
