There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

One pride is nearly completely decimated and the other stuck in limbo unable to raise cubs. Considering this can still go on for years if one coalition does not remove the other, we are looking at the potential end of every pride in western sector. Which would be a great loss to the genetic diversity in the region.
Bad or wrong is a very good description of the current situation. We know its nature and the Birminghams are just doing what they do. But its just not a good spot for the reserve to be in right now.
Killing Othawas in western sector means absolutely nothing on bigger scale, even on a scale of Sabi Sands, which is quite overpopulated atm, so its normal that weaker prides will suffer more and get wiped out.
If 1 pride is gone, another pride will take their spot, it wont stay empty or without lions.
It happened before, Majingilanes decimated and ousted Ximhungwes, and barely raised any offspring in Othawa pride, and what happened?
Fairly new pride, Mhangenis moved further west, with some territory in western sector, filling the void.
There is also not much room for 2 territorial prides in western sector anyways (alongside Mhangenis part) so we might be sorry for Othawas, but Ximhungwe/Gingerella are not, they now becomed territorial pride there, they are prob very thankfull to Nhenha/NK for help.
We love Othawas, and where routing for them, but their downfall was raise of Ximhungwe/Gingerella. Some fall, another rise because of it.
