Yes, he's a hybrid. Afro-asiatics in captivity do become very bulky and large, but the smallest lion (160 kg estimate) i've seen was also an Afro-asiatic and the animal was Akash's Father Ayush. Ayush is also a hybrid. The below hybrid is also large and bulky and i've seen him personally and estimate him to be 210-220 kg. He's from Mysore zoo (India).
