There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.
Karibu and Rafiki have very recently killed all of their own cubs. This is very odd behaviour, but there might have been other males around while they were mating with the Cheli females, giving Karibu and Rafiki the slightest doubt of fatherhood. Pictured is Karibu with the Cheli female Kali. Kali still has her two male cubs, also pictured, 13 months old, fathered by the Cheli males. They are still depended on Kali but keep their distance from her when she is interacting with the males. As soon as she can get away, she tends to her cubs, making sure they are fed, before going back to the males.
