There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Well, would you look at that! Please excuse the quality of the photo but it's almost completely dark. We decided that we weren't going to find any of the male lions in the dark so are heading back slowly. We thought we'd quickly check on the females and look what we've found. One of the lionesses leading a very small, scared cub back to the others! This is the little lost scrap who obviously did an excellent job of remaining hidden all day. The lionesses would have heard all the roaring and decided that there was enough distraction that they could go in search of their lost cub. We can't quite believe this. We certainly didn't think today would turn out so well. What a relief. Who knew fairy tales happened in real life?

Reunited. Again, please excuse the photo. We shall have to practice some night photography. The cub is back with the others and being fussed over hugely by all the others. We feel quite emotional after such a tense day when we certainly didn't think things would end like this. We'll leave them now and catch up with them in the morning. It's (hopefully) unlikely that anything else will happen tonight. It's time for a stiff drink and some dry clothes. Thanks for all your comments and sorry to flood your social feeds. We did not envisage things getting so out of hand! What a day.
