There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara

We got lucky this morning with a sighting of Scarface and his two Marsh pride brothers. They had killed a wildebeest and were chomping happily on it. Two of the brothers finished and parked themselves under a nearby tree. When Scarface came to rest with them, he may have stood on a foot or a tail and a fight erupted. Unfortunately the large brewing wildebeest herd we had anticipated might cross later, quickly came to an abrupt halt. All action subsided and that was the end of any impending crossing.
The rest of the day was spent wandering along the banks of the Mara River which was infested with many pods of hippoes.
Towards camp we came upon three sub adult lions who were clearly now out on their own. New members of the Rekero Pride I am thinking.
Tomorrow we cross over into Serengeti....onward we safari :-)
