I've heard that the cub who was killed by him, was one of the Porini pride cubs - this pride has also gone into exile since then, as they lost their pride males and territory. And not confirmed, but these were Olope's cubs (probably last of them) with Porini girls. What a shame...how so many lion prides and groups lose so much with the fall of just a two-member coalition...I think this case clearly shows the important role of dominant male lions for the protection and survive of the prides. And the Fig Tree Breakaway Pride is also not safe yet, I'm afraid they will also lose some more until their cubs will be fully grown, though their young mothers are doing great job so far. Reply
