There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Wild carnivores and humans compared

Scary humans, and wary tigers.

A big predator, such as the tiger, needs vast, uninhabited landscapes to survive. Today, such landscapes are scarcely available, and interactions between the large predator and humans are unfortunately inevitable. Even more unfortunate is that tigers generally do not fare well during such encounters.

The encounter seen in the photo here is inside Kanha Tiger Reserve, but ended without any discomfort for either of the parties. The workers, led by a forest guard, showed tremendous presence of mind, in collecting together and forming a unified groups. The tigeress, along with the cubs, understandably showed concern, but crossed without a second glance once she understood there was nothing to be wary about.
