There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Here article about bears and one male named Jakki, which was weighed and collared October 2006. It is still holding weight record of known brown bears in Finland (Kuhmo), weight was 373 kg (about 822 lbs).

Biggest hunted bear ever in Finland (Kuhmo) was shot late August 2011 and weight was 361 kg (about 795 lbs).

Third known big one was shot October 5th 2010 in Finland, Saarijärvi. That was named "Ukko" and weight was 346 kg (about  762 lbs), Ukko had been collared 2007, but no collar when it was shot.

Articles are in Finnish, so again not possible to read for most here, but at least figures can be checked. Not easy to find statistics, so I put these here to give some idea about biggest known individuals. These figures have been here before, but just if there is someone new interested about possible sizes of brown bears in Finland and Scandinavia.

Biggest captive brown bear in Finland is pretty famous big boy, Juuso bear, which in heaviest condition has been 483 kg (about 1064 lbs).
