We have posted a lot of bear shots from Alaska and almost all of them have been sows with cubs. We did spend a bit of time around the big male bears as well. Here is by far the biggest bear we saw the whole trip. Its hard to capture his size in a photo, but this tight shot tells quite a story. His ears are nearly gone and his face is covered with scars from battles with other boars over female bears. I can't imagine how hard life is for these bruins, spending most of their time alone, and fighting for much of the rest. These awesome animals are a testament of beauty, toughness, and wilderness. We're so blessed to be able to experience these amazing animals and are truly lucky when they come close, look us in the eyes, and give us a look into their souls.
