There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.
Damn he is looking good in those photos. And knowing his weight he is simply an astonishing lion, practically no fat whatsoever. And those hind legs too, many say that male lions would have relatively weak backside... well, that is relative thing too obviously. And you said, that at one point he was 265 kg, when weighed if I don´t remember wrong? In these photos 255-265 kg?
Yes he looks and was enormous here, just came over an old article in my local news paper where they had some pictuers of him. This is in his absolute prime. The heaviest I ever think he was weighed at was 260 kg. I have always though the opposite about the hindquaters of male lions, they often gets attacked there because of often fighting outnumberd so I would think evolution must have given them some extra strong backsides, especially looking at how much damage some male lions are able to endure there as well(kinky tail mauled by Majingilanes). Just an opinion ofcourse, but it would seen logical.
