MALAMALA TODAY: December 4th-6th. Lions: 3 of the Gowrie males were were viewed roaring on our airstrip yesterday. Today we found them along Reedbuck road- it was a dramatic sight as this impressive coalition moved through open grasslands in light rain. 5 of the lionesses from the Kambula pride were with the Matshapiri male north of Rattray’s Camp. The Styx pride were seen on 2 days. On one of them we watched the pride devour an impala with the youngest cubs even getting involved in the feeding frenzy. The Matshapiri male was again in the company of 5 Kambula lionesses- we watched them hunt kudu north of Rattray’s Camp.
