There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Keep in mind, we are not talking about fleeing as in escaping a dangerous situation. But fleeing as in abandoning the pride and go nomadic again, even after the danger from the fight has passed.
Why would they escape long time ago? To this events they where never threatned..
They are not "mindless automats", but they certaintly cant logically plan the future, like us humans, thats the difference between humans and animals.
Its impossible that animal can plan the future by logic..
They operate by instincts and in the moment.
I am not suggesting they are making long term plans. If they did my argument would not even work because if they did, they would be more willing to leave.
I am just suggesting that those two had such a rotten time as a nomad, they may be more willing to take more risks by staying to avoid getting back into that situation than the average lion.

Auntie is infertile, Jr's mom isn't.
Though she has had terrible luck with her litters. Some of them disappeared pretty much immediately after their alleged birth, leading to rumours she has reproduction issues as well.
But due to her age, it may not matter.
Sassy would be the sole survivor should those two succumb to old age. But being one lioness potentially taking care of multiple cubs, she wont be able to stand up for her territory. So there is a risk that the Ximhungwe or Mhangeni pride displace her. Turning the once mighty pride in just another wandering lioness.
