Othawa pride were seen on a kill in singita without the Matimba Male.
The rangers found the Matimba Male close to Inyati yesterday. He missed the meal
Missing such a meal can be costly for him. Since a pride averages a kill every 3/4 days. Missing it potentially means he goes for a week without a meal. We have seen how his condition quickly deteriorates when he doesn't eat for a while. And Missing back to back meals wouldn't be easy on such a old Male Lion
As Othawa youngsters getting bigger, its hard for HB to follow them big distance.. Eventually this will be his downfall sooner or later..
It's unfortunate but given Hairy Belly's age it's highly unlikely that he will be around long enough for the Othawa youngsters to reach an age where they can hold their own. Othawa Male (Nguvu) is facing similar odds because he's a single pride male in the Sabi Sands, a region crawling with young male coalitions.
