There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

1 - Many years ago, I saw a BBC-documentary about India and things many people in the western world loath. Or admire. In order to contact ordinary people, the team used a bus to travel from a to b. In the night, they had to change buses in the middle of nowhere. As the other bus hadn't arrived, the passengers relaxed outside of the bus. The BBC-team used the opportunity to interview a few people. One of them was a young woman with a baby. They noticed she talked to the baby in a strange way. The reason was the 'baby' was her adult sister. Not one could understand the noise she was making. Noone but the sister that held her in her arms. The one interviewing was intrigued, but also a bit cynical. Than the 'baby' started talking to her sister. The interviewer asked the sister what she was saying. She refused to talk. The interviewer insisted. She then said her sister had a message from his mother. The mother he had lost some years ago (...). Everything she said was unknown to others. And true. The interviewer turned pale.

2 - One night, the woman I loved woke me in the middle of the night. Crying. I watched the clock. She told me her grandmother had said goodbye to her. This was the woman she really loved, not her mother. Next morning, she got a call from another part of the world: her grandmother had died. At what time, I asked. I guess you can guess the answer.

3 - My sister gave birth to a daughter on the same day she had been born. I'm still close to her. When she was 5 or so, she had problems sleeping. The reason was a woman with green eyes kept her awake at night. A woman with green eyes? Not one believed her. Than, one day, a guest slept in her room. She didn't sleep well. Same reason. Finally, her great-grandmother slept in her room. Had she slept well, they asked next morning? It was ok, but she didn't like the woman with the green eyes one bit. The story ended well, but many children are not taken seriously. A pity, as they are the ones who are most spiritual of all.

4 - After WWII, the Russians, unable to keep up with the expensive arms race, experimented with what we would describe as 'unlikely' means of communication. At first, they used animals. Later, humans were included. The experiment was terminated after some time, they say. But I know people who make a living of collecting intelligence and they think otherwise. The question is why the Russians continued. The answer is it pays.

5 - The stories above are just the tip of the iceberg. There are many others. If I would tell you, chances are I would be taken to a lunatic asylum. I could keep it real short and say the human mind is unknown territory. Same for communication. We think we know a lot, but one could argue we, compared to a number of old cultures, know next to nothing. It depends on your perspective. One reason I dislike many modern means of communication is they simplify things. Another is they result in the deterioration of something we hardly use. If we continue, chances are we will dismiss ourselves.

I know you are ridiculed at times, Chaos. You got to remember the cynicism is a result of hoaxes. Many try to profit from our need for monsters. In spite of that, there is much more to life than we think. This post should cheer you up a bit. You're on the right track, but you got to accept a few misses here and there. They will help you learn a few things.

Before you continue with your quest, however, ask yourself if you really want to see the lion. Remember what you're after isn't lurking in the deep blue sea, but residing next door. What is true, often is as plain as it gets. It's in the newspaper, but you just miss out on it. This is us. Maybe there is more than us, but you first got to learn how to detect manipulation for gain without becoming cynical. When you graduate, you have been trained for more. But you're one of the few, meaning you can't talk about it without getting dismissed. You're still sure? Proceed.
