There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.
Hopefully. Their number has been very low for a long time, and this is the first instance of a Gaur image I've seen from Kaziranga.
Unfortunately, Gaurs and Water buffaloes do not seem to get the kind of attention rhinos and elephants get. That's why no one talks about relocating them and reviving their populations even when they become locally extinct from certain areas. I find it surprising that even after a zillion cattle lifting cases, no one in India seems to realize that a 500 lb tiger needs large prey items. And India is home to 2 large wild bovine species. Why not revive their populations? Good for the buffalo and good for the tiger.
