Body Length Data for The Cheetah (Acinonyx Jubatus)Whistleild and Semi-captive population


Namibia
Etosha national park
In Etosha national park male cheetahs had an average body length of 125 cm (n=308), females have an average body length of 120 cm (n=156).Both genders have an average length of 123 cm (n=464).(1,2)


Namibian farmlands
Male cheetahs in the namibian farmlands have an average body length of 126 cm (n=94) and females have an average body length of 120 cm (n=38).The largest male in the region was 152 cm and the smallest was 108 cm. The longest female in the region was 135 cm and the shortest was 105 cm.For both genders the average body length would be 124 cm (n=132).(1)

Otjiwarongo District
Male cheetahs in this region had an average body length of 132 cm (n=89) and female cheetahs had an average body length of 127 cm (n=47).The largest male was 142 cm and the largest female was 138 cm.(3)


Total average in Namibia
Males in all of Namibia average 126 cm (n=491) and females 121 cm (n=241).For both genders the average would be 124 cm (n=732).(1,2,3)



Tanzania
Serengeti
Male cheetahs in the Serengeti have an average body length of 123 cm (n=24) and females have 125 cm (n=16).The longest female was 140 cm and the shortest female was 113 cm.The longest male was 136 cm and the shortest was 113 cm.The average length for both genders would be 128 cm (n=40).(1)


Botswana
Kgalagadi and Ghanzi district
In this area male cheetahs had an average body length of 130 cm (n=24) and females had an average body length of 122 cm (n=13) .Average for both genders would be 126 cm (n=33).(2)


Kenya
In Kenya male cheetahs had an average body length of 127 cm (n=2).The longest was 130 cm and the smallest was 124 cm.(1)

Total average:

Males:126 cm (n=541)

Female:121 cm (n=278)

Both genders:124 cm (n=769)







Semi-Captive

Ultrasonographically determined renal values and comparisons to serum biochemistry renal variables in aged semi-captive cheetahs (Acinonyx jubatus) gives 99 cm (n=17) for male cheetahs and 94 cm (n=10) for females.
