There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Felids Interactions - Interspecific Conflicts

Sighting of a lifetime..
When the hyena scared the crap out of a feline.
.

.
It was late in the evening when we were about to call it quits because of the light condition, and the leopard, seen on the tree, disappeared into the bushes, and the Hyena was just roaming around a carcass of a blue bull, uninterested.
But then suddenly, the hyena saw the leopard before we saw it, and in the next few seconds, things escalated quickly; with the Leopard on the tree and the Hyena jumping up to get a bite of its tail.
Tried capturing the whole sequence but this was one of the clearest ones I could get.

.
.
The Leopard (Panthera pardus)
and The Striped Hyena (Hyaena hyaena)
