There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.
First of all, I think that Lions and Tigers living in the same habitat will end really bad for one of the species.
The Tigers would either lose their lives to prides of Lions or they would just survive in the beginning and then later they may adapt and become social and THEN THRIVE.
But if that happens then that's really bad news for Lions because the Tigers would likely claim their territories and start to slaughter them in territorial fights.
With that said, I also think that their survival before adapting like this would be difficult unless they stay away from Lion territories and then later start to take over as they adapt and get social.
Another challenge for Tigers would be hunting prey, there's a lot less cover for thier typical stealth tactic in the savannah and Tigers probably can't chase prey as good as Lions.
In such a situation, African buffaloes would become their primary prey and they could potentially even prey on Rhinos or young elephants as long as they are in groups like Lions as we have seen some reported cases of Tigers preying on Rhinos and even elephants in India. But again, that probably only happens with stealth.
