Pity that so serious fight in captivity. Also clearly shows how close call these two biggest cats are when they really go for it. Some people like to argue which one is stronger, obviously both are strong enough to kill each others.

 Still even though there are always cuts, when they fight, broken leg is brutal. In wild it would be same as dead tiger. Anyway hopefully these two won´t be kept together anymore :/

They're both youngsters and the Tiger didn't require surgery so I'm sure both could heal on their own.

I don´t believe that broken leg is ok without help. In wild it would be death sentence. In captivity it of course can be healed.

 it didn't require surgery that means it's arm wasn't actually broken and it doesn't look that way either..you'd think he would show footage of something so serious seems more like the lion had a claw hooked in the tiger's lower arm bruising the muscle,the healed wounds on the tiger's arm are indicative of claw marks not bite marks..if this was a recent incident and it's arm was indeed broken it wouldn't heal that fast even with medical attention

Original video from the owner says clearly, that leg was broken. In wild it means death for a predator like a tiger. If it would have been something else, then for sure owner would have mentioned it. In cases like this there are always so much speculations, but when owner says frankly, that broken leg and medical treatment was needed, it´s what I believe. Surgery isn´t needed to treat broken bones always, but medical treatment is.

Anyway I said what I thought, I really don´t mind or care what others think unless there is some new information from original source. If the owner say, that it wasn´t broken, it´s a different thing, but I haven´t seen him doing it. I know that discussion forums are full of "information" after every tiger and lion interaction and it´s one big reason why I avoid reading all that speculation. I found this one interesting because it show clearly how close call these two big cats are. This case, in my books, was one in which lion prevailed over tiger, no matter what someone else thinks. I said it, because it´s how I see it. If someone else feels differently, I don´t care, free world. As long as discussion stay civilized.

So I disagree with you in it, that this tiger wouldn´t have had a really serious injury from this fight. Other injuries seemed to be something these cats can survive in wild, but broken leg gives a very bad prognosis.

I don´t have time or interest to debate, winner of some fight between a tiger and lion isn´t that important for me. Sometimes tiger wins, sometimes lion if they fight, it´s just natural. I wrote what I wrote to see if wildfact community has "grown up" with time so, that one day also tigers and lions could be discussed without "all hell breaking loose" and of course because it is how I see this. I have to say, that so far looking good, no super heated up comments. Both of these big cats demand respect, if one lion loses here or tiger there, both are still magnificent. Reply
