There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Its the end of summer, males usually have less mane during summer.
After few months of lower temperature his mane will get thicker again.
Usually we dont need to be concerned if males lose some mane in first half of the year, as its quite hot there.
You will find that almost every healthy male has thickest and biggest mane in post winter/spring months of Sep-Dec, then after that they start losing it a bit (except genetic and testosterone freaks, who have massive manes whole year, those males usually have biggest males in Kruger).
