This is the belly scar male.. he looks really great now. It also looks like the skin may be covering up over his stomach wound. So I'm assuming all four males are alive and well? And the one with the eye injury doesn't look like he lost an eye... but tbd.

Is there an eyeball in that socket?? I can't tell... lol. Hopefully he's not blind. He's a beautiful male.

I do not think he is blind on the eye. It seems eye was not damaged. Also Sabi Sabi said in comment section that none of the N'was is carrying serious injurys.

We returned to the site where the four N'waswishaka male lions had made a buffalo kill. There were some parts of the buffalo left which one of the males dragged and then chewed at for a while, but then seemed too full to continue. We stayed with them and then noticed some hyenas keeping close to the area, waiting for the opportune moment to grab a few bites.

Quote:This photo was taken about 5 days ago and his eye looks a lot better today. A lot of speculation as to what had recently happened to the 4 males. Rumors of 1 had died from a fight, another one missing and to even saying that there was only 1 male remaining. One true fact remains is that they did get in altercation but no one really knows which coalition they fought but rest assured that all 4 males are fine and was seen yesterday.

Is it possible it was just a scrap amongst the boys over mating rights that caused the injury?
After Original reports were 1 dead, 1 missing and 1 blind but it just turned out 1 had a cut eye and no sign of rival males
