There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Apollo is huge. In a email I received, they told me that Apollo weighed in a 340 kgs at the age of 15 years old! So that would guarantee him to be well over 800 lb in his prime years (Or in this case 375 kg).
As far as I'm concerned, he is the largest non-obese tiger I know of.
Seems to be in same category as 600 kg lion in one youtube video. I always find it interesting how waza zoos have 100-150 kg lighter big cats when comparing to private sanctuaries etc. Maybe there are more tiger and lion subspecies than people know Normal tigers and "private sanctuary etc. tigers and lions".
Hopefully one day some biologist team could make a scientific study concerning privately owned big cats and weights so, that they could go in these places and make independent weighings. I wonder how many of these big cats would suddenly lose weight just like that
