There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Recap

ID : #192M
Sex : Male
Color : Eggwhite (nearly white)
Lifespan :
-       April 1997- June 3rd 2009 (12 years and two months old)
-       [126F, 192M and 478F are the only known Yellowstone wolves, as of now, who have reached 12 year of age]
Birth Pack :
  • Rose Creek Pack (1997)
Packs :
  • Rose Creek (1997-1999)
  • Roosevelt Group (1999)
  • Tower Pack (2000 - 2001)
  • Bechler (2002-2009)

Status in Bechler  :
  • First Alpha Male and one of the longest time as alpha in a Yellowstone wolf pack (7 years ; 2002-2009)
Ancestry :
  • Son of 18F & 8M
  • Grandson of 9F/10M & 5F/4M
  • Brother of 193M and 194M
Known Mates : Uncollared Black Alpha Female of Bechler [?-2005- ?]

Descendance :
  • 408M
  • 409F
  • 410F
  • 543M
  • 544M
  • 545F*
  • Bechler Female* [Could still be alive and member of Bechler aswell as being a former/actual alpha/breeding female]

Note : The Bechler Pack formed in 2001/2002. It is still existing today. The first alpha male of the pack, 192M, lives from 1997 to 2009. His reign of 8 years as alpha is one of the longest in Yellowstone Packs. Although his descendants are not well known because of collaring difficulty and observation of the pack being difficult due to remoteness of the area, forested habitat and being a border pack with Idaho.

Because of his long tenure as alpha and good breeding of the pack throughout his tenure, we can theorize appoximately that at least 50-80 % of the Bechler Pack is related to him. 545F lived for 8 years, being lastly seen in 2013. Both 545F and Bechler Female probably and almost certainly act as breeding females.

This is my opinion with informations on both the known descendants [numbered and nicknamed] of 192M and the history/Size of the pack by year since its formation.

*Note* : I transferred this thread to my forum : The Domain of the Wolf and updated and added many informations from the multiples sources I red. Hope it is understandable.  Also, there is a problem with the spacing between texts sometimes which i can't fix. Sorry for the inconvenience it might cause.

Although all the informations are based from my review, searches and documentation of my searches on the Internet, some informations can be, and are, inaccurate due to new papers coming out, new genetics analyses, etc etc.
