She was probably killed by the Dollar male after he jealously fought with her while she was trying to keep him from her cubs.
She was badly injured after the fight, and took two days of searching for her cubs. She knew they where not safe so she moved had to move them. You could see how injured she was and she moved them towards villagers. So the cause of death is unknown, but either way, its been over a year and they presume she is dead. No other reason a mother would just abandon her cubs like that and never be seen again.
