Meet Amur leopard named Okhotsk!
He is one of the oldest leopards of the national park. The name was given by the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources Sergei Donskoy. For the first time this leopard came into view of the cameras in 2013, and according to scientists, now it is at least 8 years old. With an average lifespan of leopards in nature at 15 years, by human standards, Okhotsk already has a solid experience, but still full of vitality.
Those pictures prove this. In the past year Okhotsk was registered several times with different camera traps in the southern part of Leopard Land National Park. Every day this powerful beast skirts the miles of its possessions. It cannot be confused with a young male: according to a well-fed figure and a heavy step it is clear that before us is a strong and confident master of the taiga. It is interesting that over the years Okhotsk not only does not concede his positions, but it seems that he is becoming even more active. About three years ago he often sat up in front of the automatic camera yawning and stretching, but now it’s nothing like that. Now this leopard is always on the go, moving confidently. Perhaps the reason for this is in the growing population of his spotted brethren: the struggle for leadership in the forest does not forgive laziness.
