Just like Kathiawari buffalo, the "Zebu" cows of Bruhad Gir (meaning Greater-Gir) were also bred to be as lion-proof as possible.
A bull can have metre long horns, curved & pointy.

I've heard of a case (maybe exaggerated) where a dead feral ox's body had rotting lion carcass hanging from its horns..because he couldn't shake it off, got immobilised & died of starvation.
