The more Tigers increase the more color variants you'll see, maybe location has to do with it or maybe that specific gene gets passed within a population. I'll go with the latter. There is no reason why a melanistic leopard couldn't survive in Africa but it hasn't been seen there in recent times and it seems mostly only seen in kabini, not throughout other Indian reserves. Why does the white lion only exist in kruger? It's just just a matter of luck, if the genes match up and the unique cat makes it to adulthood that helps with the passing of that unique trait. Reply
