My friend, it's exactly the same I think. In this sense, in the brotherhood they develop, we can't help but see ourselves in them.

In this time of history, we are separated from our wild side, we lose the connection with what we really are as men. But one look at history, and all we see is that starting from the lowest denominator, a simple tribe, up to mighty empires and kigdoms, all there is, all we know has been started and built by groups of men, men who knew that alone they couldn't survive, that they needed each other.

Take away everything we have today, every comfortable thing you can think of, and put us back in the wild, and I'm 100% sure we would be back to what I believe is the most basic unit able to survive: a gang of men. 

And isn't this exactly what lions do?

So I'm afraid I'm also guilty of being "too anthropomorphic" on this subject, because I think it describes us very well as men.

Quite agree ! By being "too anthropomorphic" or being afraid to be so, we cannot deny that there is a mysterious tie between lions and us. Perhaps we would like to dream getting inside the skin of these lions, because this animals are really superb and  beautiful. And perhaps too, not knowing to anticipate the future, they are purely, totally and intensely living the moment. Somewhere they have the power of pure emotion inside of us. They are 100% "carpe diem". They don't know the feeling of doubt, thus they seem to be so "intense" in which they are emitting and freeing. Reply
