Such a shame, thru 2021-23, these guys where one of most impressive males in Kruger, all vanished in their prime years..

He said what we already know, big poaching problems around Phabeni and Pretoriuskop, hope Kambulas can stay safe.

There is a problem with the fences in this border area from Numbi Gate to Matsulu that has been reported several times. It is common for some kilometers to simply no longer have the protective fence because it was knocked down at some point and not rebuilt. As a result, many animals end up leaving the park and entering nearby villages. There are even records of some of these animals dying when crossing a railway line that is close to the fences. This poses yet another difficulty in addition to the already known fact that this area has few roads, facilitating poaching. These problems with fences make it increasingly easier to enter the park, in addition to allowing animals to leave and even be lured out. Reply
