The Tintswalo guides seem to have a weird nonchalance with inbreeding. From the woman who was a guest on this Virtual saying she hopes Nzuri returns to claim the Mbiri pride, to Matt thinking it was odd that Red Road's daughter wasn't receptive to his attempts to mate. I didn't think it was odd at all, and hope that his daughters take this as their cue to leave and form a breakaway pride.
Yeah I agree. Although I don't think Matt realises that this is in fact Red Road's daughter. Tintswalo has a nonchalance with inbreeding indeed, or maybe it is unawareness. I have noticed it earlier with the Mbiri pride and the three Tintswalo males that ruled over their own pride.
Btw the young Nharu male (RR son) with a fresh lil wound on his face, maybe got a slap from his father? Wouldn't surprise me, we have speculated about a potential coalition and yes, they seem to have a great bond, but up to this day no sign imo of a territorial coalition between father and son. Haven't seen the son scent marking, patrolling, roaring alone, etc. Haven't really seen them together (without lionesses) either. For now the sign is on "tolerated" (at an older age for a young male) for me but not much more than that.
I mean, I was able to tell through my screen that she was one of the younger lionesses, ie. the Red Road generation, and I'm not a wildlife expert or zoologist or anything. There only being one lioness that's not either original generation (old) or one of RR's daughters (young) certainly makes it easier to be fair. And when you consider that she is the collared lioness, in which the Tintswalo lodge would have at the very least been involved in (if they didn't collar her themselves), makes me feel sceptical of the possibility that he simply didn't realise, as they almost certainly would have identified her as one of RR's daughters when they collared her.
I noticed that as well, very possible that he got it from RR, could have been a dinner-table wound though. I agree, I'm not seeing the coalition thing yet, just seems oddly tolerated for such an 'old' young male, as you said.
