1/7 Topi boys, M3 Moja Moja, collared after being involved in human-lion conflicts and has been treated twice by the KWS for injuries sustained after attacks by herders. "[...] On Friday the 28th of February, our team accompanied Mara Predator Conservation Programme, Kenya Wildlife Service, Narok County Government and Masai Mara National Reserve as they collared Moja Moja; a male lion that is part of a dispersing collation from the Topi Pride. This particular male was deemed to be a top candidate for collaring as he has been involved in human-lion conflicts and has been treated twice by the KWS for injuries sustained after attacks by herders. The vet team took the opportunity to check on his wounds and remove fluid from an abscess that had formed. Collars are proving to be a crucial step in modern lion conservation, as the collected data provides invaluable insights into their movements, habitat use, and helps mitigate human-wildlife conflict.
